Question: Why are we able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than a cup?
Answer: A saucer has a larger surface area than a cup. Since evaporation is a surface phenomenon, a larger area increases the rate of evaporation, cooling the hot tea or milk much faster.
